NEW MEXICO MAGAZINE TRUE HEROES 2021: BONNIE LENO
The New Mexico Magazine’s December issue features our language instructor Mrs. Bonnie Leno for the 2021 New Mexico True Hero award.
Mrs. Leno has been with the Acoma Learning Center for several years, providing language revitalization and cultural learning classes for the community. She first walked through our doors with her late husband, Mr. Robert Leno, who both were eager to provide classes and share their knowledge of our Acoma identity. She has taken our classes and excelled beyond our exceptions, from in-person to a quick leap into the virtual teaching world. Her passion and desire to teach our mother language have been genuinely unique.
