Welcome to the Haak’u Learning Center!
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your family to Head Start. We believe our program will offer your child a quality, comprehensive, preschool experience in a loving, caring, culture-rich, and safe environment.
The Haak’u Learning Center offers a full five hours of activities, five days a week for children ages 3 to 5 years old. We also include a developmentally appropriate education curriculum and many opportunities for parent and family involvement. We emphasize on an individual approach with children and parents where family strengths and needs are assessed, and goals developed by parents and staff.
We are committed to providing quality comprehensive services for each child and their family. We
believe that parents are their child’s most important teacher. To guide parents in becoming independent advocates for their child, we work with each family to help them attain needed services and skills. Such services include getting medical, dental, behavioral health, nutrition, disability, social services and activities that support parent involvement and development.
It is the goal of the Haak’u Learning Center to service children and families with the greatest need. The information you provide in this application will help us determine your child’s eligibility into Head Start and prioritize your application. All information supplied will be kept in strict confidence. If you feel
